As I continue to define the rhythm of this New Beginning, I find myself constantly evaluating the best use of my as-yet-unstructured work days. After teaching my new Monday class in an area in which I don't spend much time, I began to explore: what will be the best place to focus when I need to invest all my faculties in a significant writing project? Where can I pick up tea between clients and meetings?
As I made mental notes of the practical, functional spaces I will frequent in the coming months, I spotted a sunny patio with umbrellas. After too many weeks of frenetic weather, the 60 degree afternoon beckoned me to stop working, put my planning and mapping on hold, and turn my face to the warmth of the sun. Resting - if only for a moment - settled my busy mind, and brought a smile to my face. So much is unsettled, but I know I am on the right path.
Can you allow yourself to watch the clouds this week? Can you recharge by resting?
