Midday yoga classes have a distinct rhythm: Most students arrive moments before class begins, having allowed just enough time to change out of their work attire and grab props before centering. And despite how present they may appear (and/or be) throughout class, the moment we say namaste, they are back to the races - zipping off to the office, retrieving a child from preschool, or setting off to teach a class of their own.
But in the midst of the frenzy earlier this week, a kind yogi took time to write a note before escaping back to the real world. I had noticed her during class because of the unmistakeable joy radiating from her big, beautiful smile throughout her practice. Her smile alone would have been sufficient reward, but her note MADE MY DAY! The act likely delayed her commute five minutes, but her thoughtfulness followed me throughout my afternoon tasks and all the way home, where I had an extra measure of love to pour into my baby girl.
Even the smallest gesture can fill someone's heart and cause a positive ripple into the rest of their world. What little thing can you do today to make a difference in someone's day - or life?
